The first Arabic Hackathon at Tel Aviv University.

The first Hackathon was held yesterday for pupils of Arab schools in the
country on the campus of Tel Aviv University in cooperation with “Hassoub”
organization, who organized and managed the competition.
The Hackathon was a full-day brainstorming competition, devised solutions to
multi-disciplinary problems that will allow participants from different
backgrounds, whether they are engineers, designers, or entrepreneurs, to
innovate and offer advanced technological solutions and to present them in
the competition. More than 120 high school pupils from all over the country
participated in the event, At the beginning of the event, Mr. Shadi Athamneh
the Marketing manager at Tel Aviv University, and Dr. Yousef Mashharawi,
Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Integration of Arabs in the
University, welcomed the attendees and the participating pupils and
commended their interest in computer and technology topics and in turn
encouraged the students to continue and complete academic education in
these fields. The university was very welcoming, by several senior lecturers and
heads of the faculties of engineering and computer, who were delighted to
receive this large number of Arab pupils especially from the computer
specialization.
At the beginning of the competition, this event was organized by “Hassoub”
association, that organized by Mr. Rabie Zyoud, director of the association, and
Shadi Rayan, in addition to Nour Bayadseh as the manager of the event.
At the end of the day, the first place was the Jatt High School pupils who were
creative in their project, in addition to other projects by the rest of the groups,
especially for the second rank, that was for “Shamleh” high school from Jaffa.
